Afval hergebruiken is bijzonder waardevol. Bagasse (suikerrietpulp) is daar een mooi voorbeeld van: restafval bij de productie van suiker uit suikerriet. Vroeger werd dit afval gewoon verbrand, maar tegenwoordig worden er (onder andere) disposables van gemaakt. Duurzamer wordt het niet!
